Current KP club players must attend at least one tryout.  Players hoping to join one of our club teams who have played on rec teams or have not played with us previously must attend at least two.

Kelly post offers significant discounts to boys who are willing to play goalie, and each goalie gets private lessons as part of their participation in the club.

Our teams offer:

  • Participation in Howard County club lacrosse league
  • Participation in St. Pauls/Koopers Club league or MYLA Club league
  • Participation in multiple pre-season and post-season club tournaments
  • Dedicated program goalie coach with goalie-specific training regimen
  • Dedicated program face-off coach
  • Dedicated stick-skills instructor to work individually with players throughout the program
  • All coaches are trained in concussion identification and recovery protocols
  • All coaches certified by the American Sports Education Program in coaching youth sports
  • Priority for turf practices
  • Indoor winter skills sessions
  • Opportunities for fall play, both indoor and outdoor

We will offer all of this for around $550 - $650 per player

At Kelly Post we strive to do the following:

  • Make teams the appropriate size so that players get fair playing time
  • Focus on the kids and their development needs
  • Find a place for every kid who is interested in the game to play, regardless of talent or experience -- which can mean that some players might find homes on our recreational travel or in-house teams if not on one of our club teams
  • Understand that lacrosse is important, but it does not take priority over fall sports
  • Communicate with parents by offering written, player-specific evaluations as well as individualized training programs
  • Coach our coaches throughout their careers to improve their knowledge base and skills

All tryouts will be open to all players, and we will select the best players to each team.  Wherever possible, we will build multiple teams in each grad year group.

For those who prefer traditional rec lacrosse, Kelly Post is continuing to enhance those programs as well.  Tryouts for our rec teams will take place in October.  Those who are not chosen for club teams will be placed on rec teams.  Everyone will have a chance to play through our program.
