2021-22 Kelly Post Boys Club Team Tryouts

Kelly Post Boys Club Team Tryouts

Kelly Post Boys Lacrosse is excited to announce club team tryouts for the 2021-22 season.  Tryouts will be held in late July and early August, with ample opportunities for families to fit in sessions around vacations and other obligations.  The exact tryout schedule is in the works, but we are aiming for weekend and weeknight sessions during the time period of July 25th - August 15th.  Our goal is to offer at least three sessions per high school graduation year grouping.  We ask that all players who are new to the program attend at least two sessions, and returning players attend at least one.

Unlike other programs, we do not charge for the chance to try out for our teams.  Register now and we will communicate dates ASAP.

We will be forming teams at:

  • 2031 (entire team will be new)
  • 2030 (one existing, one brand new)
  • 2029 (two existing)
  • 2028 (two existing)
  • 2027 (one existing, would consider a second team)
  • 2026 (two existing)
  • 2025 (one existing, would consider a second team)
  • 2024 (one existing)

Building on the True Lacrosse Partnership:

2020-21 marked Kelly Post's first year of a partnership with True Lacrosse, which is among the largest and most successful club programs in the country.  As a result of that partnership, our club players have gained:

  • Increased opportunities to off-season training
  • Participation in box lacrosse training and leagues
  • Opportunities to tryout for True's state and national all star teams
  • Recruiting and developmental support from True leadership
  • Increases in the amount of lacrosse played thanks to True play days and increased tournament participation.

And we've managed to do this for a price that is highly competitive.

Our teams offer:

  • Participation in Howard County club lacrosse league
  • Participation in MYLA Club league
  • Participation in multiple pre-season and post-season club tournaments
  • Dedicated program goalie coach with goalie-specific training regimen
  • Dedicated program face-off coach
  • Dedicated stick-skills instructor to work individually with players throughout the program
  • All coaches are trained in concussion identification and recovery protocols
  • All coaches certified by the American Sports Education Program in coaching youth sports
  • Priority for turf practices
  • Outdoor fall skills sessions
  • Indoor winter skills sessions
  • Opportunities for fall play, both indoor and outdoor

For those who prefer traditional rec lacrosse, Kelly Post is continuing to enhance those programs as well.  Tryouts for our rec teams will take place over the winter.  Those who are not chosen for club teams will be placed on rec teams.  Everyone will have a chance to play through our program.
